in HOTlanta

I can't believe I grew up here. How did I survive the heat and humidity? I guess there is nothing like a visit to the east coast to make me re-appreciate the perfect weather of the bay. I think the heat really affected Nikhil cuz he was fussy yesterday and the only thing that calmed him was a cool bath. Today we plan to spend the day in the pool (the upside of the east coast, pools everywhere).

This is my first trip alone with Nikki. The flight was hard, but not undoable. Although my parents are helpful, they are also stressful - so I am not feeling that relaxed. Plus being responsible for all the nighttime wakings myself takes a toll. Luckily Dan will be here in two days. It has been a long week.

I am really bummed I missed all of the may day events. I couldnt find info about the one in atlanta - but I am not sure nikki could have taken the heat anyway. I am also the lone person in the family who is anywhere on the left side of things - so it hasnt been particularly easy arguing with my family - who, by the way, are all immigrants. Even my stepfather, who came here illegally from mexico, thinks the folks walking out /on strike are just lazy. Georgia is a different world. Or maybe it is Berkeley that is the other world. . .
