Any time there's a threat of inclement weather, they send out an email that basically says that people who are really dedicated to keeping their jobs need to find some place to stay close to work, so that they won't be hindered by the weather in getting back to work the next day.

That's it.

They also sent out an announcement once that if family emergencies were likely to keep you from showing up to work, you should probably find another job.

No and dedication is good. However I feel jobs that make you have to put them before family and or safety is pure sin.
