The cabbage seeds I planted with Matthew, Neal and Dee when they were here in Madison visiting this past weekend are already up as of this evening!
Tonight I have a phone interview for a 3rd and 4th grade teaching position awfully close to Dordt. If I get it, I may be moving back to Iowa in a couple months. The job I had had my heart on in Sheboygan went to somebody else and this one is now my biggest hope.
In other news, I am teaching reading and writing poetry this week and next. I made it a goal to have the students spend a few minutes quietly reflecting every day--a skill research tells me very few children in this generation are developing, which I think is a shame.
With nice weather and a little less business I checked out on of the Madison bike trails today after school. I was surprised at how many community garden plots there are. I also saw several beautiful little houses that I just may dream of owning in an area I might dream of living in.
Only two more days of winter. I think we made it once again, my friends.
