Did you know that ants make noise? I woke up this morning with my ear cupped over one on my pillow, which is probably why I could hear it, but it was screeching and biting me! My ear is still a little red...
As my last disposable razor has gotten really dull, I have be rethinking using disposable anything to get the hair off my legs, ect. It has always baffled me how razors and sometimes the whole shaver can just be thrown out--how wasteful! I looked into a straight razor, but apparently even those (which are not meant for women's legs anyhow) use disposable blades now a days instead of one blade you re-sharpen.
Dee had a good solution--sugaring. The only waste is organic sugary paste. It's like wax, but you can make it in your kitchen...and we did! Apparently you don't even need fabric strips like waxing for some kind of "sugaring" but the kind we made did...but the fabric strips can be washed and reused indefinitely. So with leftover canvas bag fabric and some sticky ingredients from the grocery store and a butter knife, Dee and I removed my leg hair. Right there on the kitchen table. It hurt like the dickens! I have yet to decide if it was worth it... But I feel good about eco-friendliness of the whole affair. I decided I could even feed the hairy sugar water to my plants...
I will put the recipe in my comments for you to see without making this post really long.
I have actually been toying with starting yet another blog. (I know, but I really love blogging...) This one would be for recipe sharing. Maybe it could be one that has multiple contributors. Anybody interested? Anybody know how to set up a multiple author blog?
