I love this premise, whether it be an ending or you could use it for a prologue and tell the "ending" before you get into the story. I think it would fit nicely. (doesn't even have to be a prologue, could be part of the first chapter?)
Also, all kidding aside, there will always be an audience for vampire stories no matter what. It's one of those genres that is everlasting and people are fascinated by it. I think adding the twist of it being "post-apocalyptic" is really interesting. I would read this. :)
(OH and I didn't forget about what you sent me. I can't seem to find a program to open it in the format it is currently in. I am going to have to try on my laptop and I haven't had a chance yet. I will read and advise as soon as possible. 8)
