HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Nov 11, 2007 13:38

I have a birthday on Wednesday. I will be "38" this year. Never mind that my children are older than that. Don't ask middle grand actual age, she will tell you loudly and emphatically. Although it isn't here yet, I have had a good birthday already. Daughter and husband gave me things (people and houses) to go with my Williamsburg Village. Son took husband and me to a Renn Fest in Charlotte. It was very nice. I started to call my friend she's precious and ask to borrow something to wear. If I go to the one in the spring with son and family, I just might do that. I do have the chest for it at least.
Husband and I spent a week in Virginia and except for getting the creeping yuckies while there, we had a good time. We always try to eat at one of the taverns in the historic district. This time we ate at Chowning's. It was really good and definitely different. The Jamestown area is celebrating their 400th year. They had redone a lot of the exhibitions and had interpreters everywhere. That was really nice. Of course, since Queen Elizabeth came in May it was really clean.
Went up to Stafford and saw the newest family member. He will be 1 on the 15th missed my birthday by a little over an hour. He is a doll. It was nice spending time with them. Husband had not met husband before and they got along well. We ate dinner and played with the baby a little.
I do wish I had been able to see the Georgia game. Daughter said the team in black was awesome. The AJC pictures are good. Really sorry about the Bama game but hopefully they played well anyway. Trying to be an alumni that doesn't expect miracles this year. Now if they can just beat that "other" school, that would be nice. I do like seeing Tubberville with out his smirk.
After two weeks, we think we are finally getting over whatever it was we had. Daughter is still coughing. If you see her, tell her Doctor on Monday. She isn't talking to anyone much. Not because she is mad she has lost her voice again.
I have gotten cards already for my "day". One from the father-in-law with a little check in it. One from the Dress Barn with a gift certificate to save if only I spend some. One from my stock broker and one from the company I retired from reminding me to get regular checkups and a colonoscopy every 3-5 years. Yeah, me.
Now to get the Christmas village things down and start on that. I love it set up but not setting it up so much. Come and see it sometime in December and January.

tired but quite pleased with things.
