So around 2am tonight I heard this series of loud banging sounds. Hey, nothing unusual. You get used to the ambient crashings and screamings pretty quick. However, these registered on the underlying monkey-pay-attention circuit by the fact they were obviously coming closer. I was hoping for something like an fleet of ice cream trucks exploding at delicious intervals, but it was just some drunk girl in a Smoot-sized SUV bouncing off cars on both sides of the street like a particularly poor showing at the bumper bowling lane.

She came to a final stop directly outside my window. She had finally managed to hit something bigger than she was -- in this case, a full sized van. She got stuck there, so of course I grabbed my camera.

She just stuck there for about ten minutes, revving her engine, trying to get loose. I spent this time looking up my local precinct -- for future note, its 108, not 114. The 114 people really don't care. Girl finally managed to get herself free, but didn't get very far.

See that right front wheel? Its not supposed to bend that way, Cisco. Around this time the police started swarming in -- quite a heartening response, given I didn't even call 911.

I wandered down, found one who looked like he was interested in all this, told him what I saw, gave him my information. He seemed.. suprised. Eh. Girl got taken off in handcuffs, which does not bode well for her. She's going to have a bad day tomorrow, I think, given that she hit a lot of cars.
