This (from
Mark Stone) was waiting for me at my myspace page this morning:
It was great to spend some time with you. I did indeed enjoy your playing and can only hope that I gave you some ideas in the class. Good luck and keep in touch!
Best,
Mark
This is a reinforcement of what he'd said to me during Saturday's lesson and again at the end of Sunday's one.
My horrorscope from Yahoo's astrology site reads thusly:
You have a calling, and signs are emerging around you that reinforce that fact. People are giving you feedback that is genuine -- they're not just praising you for their health! Have faith in yourself and understand that you're capable of amazing things. The worst mistake you can make today is to limit yourself. This applies to new relationships, career challenges and even business opportunities. Act on your ideas and climb out of your shell.
I've told very few people about the things that he said. I hate to be a braggart, and I exist in the idea that every scrap of pride I've got in my own skill robs somebody else of something - honour, recognition, esteem, oxygen, what have you - and who am I do that? Only I needed this, didn't I? Rather a great lot, if I'm honest about it. And sure, astrology isn't something I honestly believe in; however, I do often find use in synchronicity. Thus it's worthy of note. I suppose that would make it 'noteworthy' and I could have written that sentence shorter. Er.
I'm taking a bit of a risk here - this is the sort of thing that I'd write, only it would never see the light of day. Either that or I'd change all names to shield the innocent sort of thing. Perhaps it'll all carry more weight this way. Perhaps I've no idea what I'm doing or why. Sure, it's a mystery. Agus ta se asin. Be kind, youse.
