...shaddowshoes and I were late to our own wedding - due in part to a box of tiny, live fish that had arrived in the post.

So, how did we mark the occasion? We acted as extras in typsygypsy's neighbour's film. It's called 'Recipe for Disaster', and I've yet to work out the plot. The first scene we were in was in a cinema (well, it was actually a theatre - but the scene ( Read more... )

drag her round the back and swop her nose for her left ear.

If I credit you, can I steal that ickle bit of brilliance right there?

Tiny, live fish? There's a story here that I need to know.

It falls into the category of Seemed Like a Grand Idea at the Time. I had a 'fish cube' at my desk. It was a rectangular, clear box that stood round six inches high, and contained water and tiny fish (and hermaphrodite snails that bred faster than we could clear them out). Well, I'd decided to add to my little ecosystem, and the fish arrived the day before my wedding day. So on the morning of my wedding - after I'd had my hair braided (it hung past my waist at the time), I drove to my office and sat at my desk as I waited for my fish to climatise. It set me back round two hours.

Wow, I usually remember your wedding anniversary! Happy anniversary a day late to both of you! I remember your wedding like yesterday. It was a little, er, hot, but beautiful. I loved your red dress and the location was wonderful. :)

Well, it was yesterday. Seven years ago, yesterday. Ha ha.

Listen...I realise this is something of an awkward place to discuss this, but...when you're ready, if you want that dress, it's yours. I'm sure it could be altered to fit you (er, we'll add a ruffle along the bottom or something). It seems a shame that it should only walk down one aisle.

Haha, I thank you for the offer. It's quite lovely. I'll discuss that possibility with you in the future, because I don't plan to get married juuuust yet. ;)

Well, of course I don't mean now, goosey. I thought I should make the offer whilst it was fresh in my mind (rather than three months from now when it's gone of its expiry date).

Well, it's good to know that traditions are continuing. I remember that you laughed at us at our wedding and we laughed at you at yours. Here's to many more years of finding things to laugh at.
