A good year ?
It is only a little bit more then four hours and 2006 will be history. I just made myself salmon sandwiches and had delicious Austrian white wine to it. Now I am listening to Tori Amos and I guess it is time to sum up 2006.
The last movie I saw was called "A good year". 2006 was definitely not a good year for me. I got my heart broken twice (in the last two months) and could not progress with my stuff like I planned. My Ph.D. thesis is still not completed and I have not decided about changing to a new job. At least I could sort out my living situation, which was really overdue at last. Not to mention the fact that I could only attend to one concert this year, I never have been to that few gigs in my life ever.
But what really makes me sad is the fact that so many friends turned away this year. I don't know the reason why (either the founded a family, became busy, or just lost interest), but I have lost contact with really a lot of former friends this year. Well, I really tried my best, but if people even do not answer the phone or an email, it is hard not to give up yourself ...
Right now I was listening to "Pretty Good Year". 2006 was definitely not even a pretty good year for me. I was trying to think of some really positive things that happened to me in 2006, but there weren't any. Well, let's hope 2007 will be better - it cannot become worse, at least I hope so.
