Suzy stirred in her sleep when she felt sun rays peeking outside the window. She glanced at the bedside clock - it was forty minutes past seven. She sat up and she felt her head spun a little. She massaged her temple to ease the headache. She looked around her room and didn’t remember how she ended up on her bed. She slipped out of the bed and went to the bathroom.
After washed her face and brushed her teeth, she went down to the kitchen. As she stood at the kitchen door, she saw Wooyoung was busily cooking something. From the smell of it, it seemed that he was preparing kimchi soup for the breakfast. She silently entered the kitchen and sat down at the dining table. She had to control her laugh when Wooyoung started cutting the meat with scissors. He then cut some tofu and put them inside the pot. After putting all ingredients inside, he tasted the soup. Based on his expression, the taste must be awful. Suzy can no longer contain her laugh when he kept making the funny expression.
Wooyoung looked over his shoulder when he heard the laugh. When he realized Suzy was there looking at him all this while, suddenly he felt embarrassed. He giggled shyly and rubbed his neck. Suzy smiled at his reaction and got up from her seat to help him. She took the ladle from him and tasted the soup. Surprisingly, the soup tasted good - not so bland or salty.
“Thank you for making this but why don’t you wake me up? I can prepare breakfast,” said Suzy while putting some pepper and bit of seasoning in the soup.
Wooyoung moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her hip. “I felt guilty for making you cry last night so I wanted to make it up to by making this soup and letting you sleep some more,”
She turned her face slightly to him. “It’s not your fault. If someone should be blame and that someone is me. I should’ve never say a word about it,”

“Hey, don’t say that. You don’t know how much I wanted to hear that words from you. I love you, Suji. Thank you so much for forgiving me and I’m sorry that I made you lose a best friend. But I promise you that I’ll be your best friend, not just that I’ll be your greatest friend you ever have in this world and I…”
Suzy cut his words and continued, “And you also will be my greatest lover I ever have in this world,”
A biggest smile painted on his face when she said that. He pulled closed and leaned in to her. Unfortunately, before he could taste her lips, she pushed him. He was confused.
“The soup,” she said and turned herself again.

“Actually, Wooyoung always shared his stories with us. He has been telling us about you since college. Based on what he told us, he really loves you. Though, we never met Jiyeon, we know he looked happier with you. It just he looks like he’s in a very good place now,”

“Mom, dad, these are your grandchildren, Mia and Joonie,”

Suzy who just watching silently the family reunite suddenly felt a pair of hands lingered on her hips. She looked over her shoulder and finding her lover was hugging her from behind. The mood was lively as they all ate dinner together. Minjun told his stories after he left Busan and how he managed to become a successful composer at a big entertainment company. The whole family laughed when Minjun told funny things that happened the day he proposed Fei to be his wife. He was supposed to bring her to dinner in a fancy restaurant but his car’s tyre was flat. “Wooyoung told us what happened last night,”
Suzy just kept silent and waited till Mrs. Jang continued her words.
“It is so regretful what had happened but we can’t keep blaming people because everything that happened must be a reason for it,”
Both Fei and Suzy couldn’t agree more with Mrs.Jang’s word.
“Suzy, I know that you felt guilty but this is the destiny that has been made for you, Wooyoung and also Jiyeon. Maybe Jiyeon wasn’t destined to be with Wooyoung and she was there to be the link for both of you and Wooyoung. And Mrs. Jang loved the idea. She can read the bedtime story to her grandchildren and do some catch up with her son.
“That would be great, Fei. Wooyoung honey, I think I stayed at your brother’s house tonight. I want to spend more time with my grandchildren,”
Wooyoung agreed at that idea too. His parent must have wanted to spend more time with his brother too.
