This place pulls people from different points on a timeline. The two people in question are about a year earlier than me.

Well, if they can take people from different worlds, I suppose it's not too much of a stretch to believe they can take people from different times... Though I don't envy you having to keep so much to yourself. Assuming of course you don't simply tell them what lies in their futures.
