Yeah, I know. If I hadn't been so busy typing I would have been headdesking. Srsly, I can see Angela not knowing Claire could have saved Nathan. I can see Bennet *maybe* not mentioning it because he was out of it when he was brought back and/or she's his little girl and not a miracle cure/blood bank. But CLAIRE? Not mentioning that she can save Lydia when she's right there? WTF?! The only reason that happened the way it did is because the script said so. I really can't stand when shows ignore their own internal logic to further a plotline. UGH!!
It's just so wrong. So so wrong. Why have magic healing blood that can RAISE THE DEAD -- hello Bennet AND Maya -- and have her stand there and do nothing.
And this after Mohinder's lameass exit back to India to USE Molly to find bitchy Mira???
Ugh. Just...ugh. Even Adam's awesome of last week doesn't make up for this stupidity. I'm sorry, but...Hiro gets a miracle heavenly cure for incurable brain cancer & Lydia DIES while Claire is RIGHT THERE????
But didn't Jack Coleman say in his blog that Noah hadn't died right away, and Mohinder had Claire's blood right there for immediate access? On the other hand, Nathan and Lydia died before they could get transfusions. Maybe the blood can help people who are hanging on by a thread, but not who are already dead?
He was shot thru the eye. I don't know too many ways to NOT die when your brain is turned to pudding. If they're saying he didn't die right off, then THAT'S bad writing. Besides, blogs and interviews and comics are not the show. I know they're all hyped up about the 'extended viewing experience' crap these days, but secondary (non-canon) canon shouldn't be used to justify what happened in the show (by the production folks, I mean). If they couldn't put it in the show, then there's no reason to think it happened. (not yelling at you - just supremely pissed at the writing)
Actually, having read more reaction stuff, it seems her blood can pretty much restore the dead to life, lol.
(And no worries, not feeling yelled at. ;) )
I wonder if she's really dead. I mean, it seems she is, and there isn't much wiggle-room, and I doubt the writers think like that, but I found wiggle-room in Elle's death, for crap's sake.
I don't know if he did or not? If so, that's now how it was presented on the show, 'cause Noah was looking pretty dead and they were in a Company-ish facility when Mohinder hooked him up. I mean, they could have ret-conned the hell out of it, but it still annoys me when writers won't be consistent. Maya was dead--Claire's blood brought her back. They've given a clear indication that the blood can raise the recently dead in the show--if they've changed their mind about that, then they need to show it can't in the show, too--or at least have Claire say "wait, I can save her" and then have the blood fail. The fact that she didn't even try, when she logically shouldn't know the finer points of what she can and can't do is just bad writing that makes canon!Claire look like an idiot, and Lydia and Nathan's deaths both clumsily contrived. As professional writers, getting to live the dream so many others are struggling for--I just expect better of them than that.
Like I said above, they could salvage it by having Claire save her later, but at this point I have so little confidence in the writers, I'm really not holding my breath. It annoys me, because the show can (and HAS) been so much better than this...
