at m.i.a.'s soundcheck today, she started doing a song i'd never heard before, but she only did one verse and i thought it was AMAZING...so, we met her, i asked what it was, found out it was a kanye west instrumental (gold digger) that she just wrote her own lyrics over...i told her she should do it, everyone around me agreed...the show happens, and midway, she says, "i'm going to do something i haven't tried before because someone told me earlier today that i should, and he's out in the crowd somewhere..." and she did it...and it was fucking sweet. super sweet. and she was awesome, too, besides. more later, i'm tired.
