oh hey look, pura does other things other than icons. who'da thunk it.

Title: untitled
By: purapea
Word Count: 612
Rating: Fluffy bunny. No seriously. (PG maybe for some slight cursing on Tommy's part)
Summary: Tommy somehow gets landed with baby sitting the two youngest Runaways, Molly and Klara, one of which has gone missing. He goes to investigate.
Author's Notes: This was originally done as a short drabble on a cuddle!fest meme a while back for lilpocketninja. The prompt was 'Molly needs a hug! Tommy provides!' There are also slight spoilers for the end of Runaways if you are not totally up to date, so watch out!

--------

Tommy wasn't entirely sure why Molly was upset or where she'd gone. She had been totally fine when the rest of the Runaways dropped her and Klara off this morning. She had been fine when the rest of his team had gone with them, telling him to stay and babysit because he was the best with them (He didn't know how he'd gotten this reputation, and even Eli wasn't entirely sure about leaving two small girls in the care of a 'sociopath').

Klara was sitting in front of the big screen, watching some sort of Spanish drama where they dramatically draped themselves over door frames and shouted POR QUÈ a lot, and Molly had gone looking for some snacks but had been gone a while. And looking for Molly sounded a lot better than squinting at the TV in the vague hope that it'll suddenly translate into English (he wasn't even sure Klara knew what was going on).

Tommy found Molly sitting on the kitchen floor, angrily stuffing her hands in a box of cereal.

"What're you doing down there, squirt?" he asked, crossing the kitchen and standing over her with a raised eyebrow. Molly didn't say anything, and made an odd huffing noise, before shoving a handful of cereal into her mouth. Tommy rolled his eyes and sank down so he was sitting next to her, and grabbed the box of cereal off of her.

"Hey! I was eating that!" she protested, before calming down when she realized that Tommy was only taking a handful himself, and then offered the box back to her.

"Seriously, Mol, why're you in here on your own? If you told me you wanted to escape the horror that is whatever the hell Klara is watching, I totally would've come with you."

She said nothing at first, staring at the colorful drawings all over the box before she sighed, and frowned at the purple otter who was grinning so widely it looked like it was on crack. "Everyone is stupid."

Tommy snorted. "Yeah they are," he said picking out all the marshmallows in his handful. "I mean, why the hell do you need baby sitting anyway? You could totally throw like, an elephant at them if you wanted."

Molly squeezed the sides of the box a little, but she looked more sad than angry. Tommy peered at her, and reached over and pulled on the ear of her pink bunny hat so she would look at him. She frowned up at him, almost looking close to tears. It was then that Tommy realized why she was upset. Without Old Lace to protect her anymore, and still no sign of the Stein kid, she was in a lot more danger. They couldn't risk taking both Klara and Molly out, not with everything that happened.

Tommy gave a sigh and slung his hand around Molly's shoulder and pulled her close to him rather suddenly. She hiccupped, and leaned into the hug, dropping the cereal box so she could cling to him better, her face rubbing into his side.

Tommy was slightly uncomfortable to say the least. He really wasn’t a touchy feely person, and being held onto for too long made him feel almost claustrophobic, but he was willing to put up with it for her sake. She needed this.

After a while, he moved his hand so he could ruffle her hat and the hair under it, and gave her an awkward smile.

“Wanna go wrap everything in Teddy’s room in saran wrap?”

Molly snorted against his side, and looked up at him, her hat askew, her face slightly damp, but still smiling just ever so slightly.

“Totally.”
