I didn't have time to react to my sister's note, then a coma and then a breach. [He's a lot calmer than his disjointed list is making him sound. There's just a LOT to list.]

By all means, talk to Vlad when he needs it. Unless you try to set him against me or the rules I've set out for him, I have no problem for him to have warden friends. And try not to betray his trust in you unless it's very urgent.

[Armand has both sets of keys in his pocket, and a basket of freshly-picked lettuce on his lap. He sits at the end of one of the rows, mostly waiting to see Charlie. The plants on this row are short enough, though, that he's easily visible from a distance.]

[Armand waves when he hears and then spots Charlie, then climbs to his feet, leaving the basket on the ground.]

Oh, I'm physically well enough. Simply a bit unsettled. And you, M. Crews?

[Armand cleaned his palm on the seam of his jeans then took the offered hand for a few shakes.]

The breach and my sister being here earlier followed immediately by a coma. I haven't had much time to react to any of that. It happened too fast.

[Armand stepped back a bit, looking away. He dug into his pocket for a set of the keys, an almost nervous gesture.]

She's not here now. Between her visit and the coma, I feel as if I lost the best part of a week.

This is part of why I feel the need to have another person helping out here. Do you also wish to supervise?

It isn't your fault. [A little embarrassed, Armand shakes his head.]

So would you like mornings or afternoons? I like mornings, but Dracula wants to be here more when he's done hiding so I've been planning for afternoons too. Persephone comes in the morning, I think.

[He points at the keys.] The smaller one opens the lock on the shed so you can get out the tools. The larger one is the greenhouse door.

[Armand smiles back, just a little weakly.]

Thank you for that, then. I have not been overly motivated. I usually drop whatever we've harvested during the morning by the kitchen. It often shows up mixed into the evening meal.
