[He seemed more agitated than even his usual video-post nerves.]

I see that Captain Harkness has made his announcement. I will confirm that I am going with him for a while. I will be back, although I don't know how long I'll be gone. I've made arrangements for Madame Owens to take charge of the gardens. She'll probably be better at it than I would ( Read more... )

I thought it was best. I was thinking most especially of you and the Doctors. I have to admit I was terrified when he first told me, but as you see, we've come to an agreement. I hope it will be good for both of us, in the end.

There's a little time left today, if you want me to come see you. Up to you, of course. You'll be here when I get back won't you?

Good, I'm glad you two worked it out.

You'd better come see me, Armand, I'd be cross with ya if ya didn't.

And I will be, of course.

Now it is then, my friend. I want advice.

[Armand knocked on her doorway not 15 minutes later. He was clutching a notebook, noticeably not the one he usually wrote in for the network, to his chest.]

[Martha had been waiting for Armand, and she smiled at him when she opened the door, and then she took a step back quickly. This was harder than she expected.]

[Armand was a little overwhelmed himself, but more happy the he was going with Jack on an adventure. He stepped forward to hug her, if she'll let him, though he has to be careful not to accidentally bap her with the notebook.]

I'm not abandoning you, dear lady.

[Martha hugged him when he stepped forward, and she clung to him for a bit longer than was strictly necessary. She didn't blame Armand for going, after all, she'd gone on her own with the Doctor before as well. She just didn't think that he'd come back. Of course, she didn't say that, she just grinned at him and nodded.]

I know.

[He didn't mind the hug lingering. One thing he never got enough of on the Barge were hugs.]

I understand there are movies in the future on big screens. I saw the one at Disney World. If I get to see any I'll think of you.

You definitely should. Have Jack take you to an IMAX, the screens are so big it's a bit like being inside the world. [She smiled to him before she took a step back.]

Jack told me Paris, where else do you wanna go?

[He looks down at the notebook, his smile lingering with a faint blush.] We talked of somewhere sunny, or even visiting space.

I'd like to see London. Perhaps more of America. It's hard to imagine the wheres... I just want to see him happier than he is here.

I want to see somewhere he considers home, but I won't ask that.

Cabo. Go to Cabo, lovely beaches and water and sun. [Martha said quickly, this was a happy thing for Armand too.]

London and New York. I'll be in either, I imagine, depending on where in the timeline it falls, but do both. I'll show you two a night you won't forget.

[Martha quickly put one hand on Armand's arm.] Good.

Cabo... [He said to himself as if trying to remember it.] I'll ask about it.

I'd like to see you at home too. [He laughs, just a little, like being too happy will jinx it.] You're so very special to me... the London I know is such a gloomy, muddy place.

He may relax enough and take me anyway. I hope so anyway.

Thank you, Martha. Do you think I can handle the future?

It's really not that bad. Well, it can be a bit gloomy sometimes, but it's really bright now. You'll see.

[When he asked if he could handle the future, Martha quickly leaned over and gave his hand a squeeze.]

I do, yeah. You can handle anything, Armand. I have faith in you. Remember, the most important thing to do when in the future is just to go with it. What happens happens and just be easy with it.

All cities have their moments, but I was never so much homesick as when in London. The countryside was always much better.

[He tried to squeeze back, but there were more questions on his mind.] I know it doesn't matter to Jack, but do you think--if I have to dress like modern people--will the scars on my back be a problem? Some people wear so little...
