Due to the formation, we have the advantage of inside lines. If our defense is penetrated anywhere, we can easily shift reinforcements. On the other hand, they will have a hard time shifting their reinforcements to respond to our tactics.
Our best defense is a good offense.

It's a commendable plan. If we do make a hole in their line, we could pour some forces into that gap and attack some of them from behind. But that would mean the greatest danger would fall on the initial defense line.

The initial defense line can retreat but if they do, they have to do it as a whole, to retain formation. A fighting retreat is actually a good option, to lull the enemy into a false sense of security.

If they were humans, they would be worth underestimating. Since they're not, they're better blasted off as quickly and as hard as possible. And if that option isn't available, consider the rest you have.
Plan for all scenarios possible. I thought they taught that at the military.
