Marble Mountain and a bunch of caves, sounds very interesting. Very cool to hear your story about that trip. Camping at the spur of the moment with no gear, I can relate. Once me and 2 friends went to climb in the Gore range (kind of northeast of Vail) We hiked in 11 miles from the car and reached a technical ridge about 100 feet from the summit of Eagles nest. Unfortunately the sun was setting right then. We were in an unsafe area about 2200 feet above timberline and 11 miles from the car. I was wearing shorts for crying out loud. We managed to get down to the trees and around midnight we were at this lake. Oh yeah we had no flashlights either. It was insane. We also made a little fire but we didn't have the energy to do much more than lie down in the dirt and try to rest. First glimpse of light we were raging doen the remaining 8 miles to the car. Starving we were, That was the only time I've had a no gear camp. Definitely a fond memory that stands out. It would be excellent to do a Blanca expedition with you. Would have to be next season of course. I'd have to fly into the Springs and greyhound down to Alamosa. From there.....
