In honor of getting a fanfic idea for Bleach, I'm going to go ahead and post this Black Butler ficlet. It's a bit of a character study of Ciel and Sebastian.
Disclaimer: Black Butler and all of its characters are owned by Tobosco Yana, her Japanese publishers, and Yen Press. I only play with them for grins and giggles.

Live…
I’m called childish. Too young for my responsibilities; naïve. I hear the whispers behind my back and out in the hall. I’m half-blind, not deaf. After two years, I’ve grown used to the harsh, “well-meaning” words.
But they are wrong. Very wrong.
I may be young in body, but my youth disappeared the moment the title fell to me. The moment I brought him into the rebuilt family home; contract signed in blood and imprinted onto the eye hidden behind the patch - and on the black-nailed hand Sebastian hides in pristine white gloves. He sees to the many needs of the estate, hiding his inhuman efficiency behind a bumbling under-staff.
Sebastian Michaelis is truly one hell of a butler. Honoring our contract to the letter, he keeps me in line, as well as safe from the undesirables my position as “dog” to the queen brings me in contact with. He violates the spirit of it daily in the subtext of his gentle scolding and clever jibes, along with a knowing look in his dark red eyes.
But he will hold up his end of our bargain, keeping me alive until he can fulfill the contract and deliver to me my greatest desire. When Sebastian can do that, then I will submit to him in body and soul.
Especially in soul.
…But to Serve
I must say, the young master is quite amusing. For one quite so young, his sense of humor is quite well-developed. Using children’s games to ferret out - and toy with - one’s enemies is a stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. Ciel is still learning subtlety, but that will come in time.
Assuming he lives that long, of course.
I might be one hell of a butler, but the young master keeps me well occupied with the running of the Phantomhive manor. Not to mention his position with the queen; she seems quite anxious to throw him into one dangerous situation after another. Even I find it difficult to keep the earl out of trouble.
But I shall not be the one to break our contract; he shall remain alive and safe until I give him that which he desires most. In time, I will deliver it to him on a silver platter, complete with ironic commentary. For now, I am content to play the simple butler.
But eventually, Ciel Phantomhive will be all mine - body and soul.
