Then have some hands fidgeting around withe guide until it points down to Keiichi (apparently Chimchar is recording this from a dresser) lying on his bed and looking deep in thought.]--An epitaph to revive a witch, huh? That's just too far fetched for me to believe... ( Read more... )

[he doesn't even hesitate to answer] Man.

[but that's not what interests him about this post] An epitaph? Where'd you hear about an epitaph?

--Eh? That's right. I think everyone knows that.

[He takes a moment to think.] Oh, a girl named Ushiromiya Ange told me. It was an epitaph from her world.

It's the sphinx's riddle. Probably one of the more famous ones out there.

[headtilt] Ange... the redhead, right? Battler-san's sister? [ha...] An epitaph to revive a witch... sounds dubious.

I love word puzzles! I can't get enough of them!

[He'll nod quickly.] Yeah, that cute girl! The genes must run well in the family, haha! [And he'll take a moment to pause on that note.] That's exactly what I thought. I think it makes more sense for it to be about finding gold.

I prefer giving riddles more than I like solving them. [it's the thief in him] How good's your English? I might have one for you.

Not if the guy really did want to revive a witch. It's still dubious, but in that case, we can just call him crazy.

< Not bad! I would say! > Bring it on! This Maebara Keiichi won't turn down any challenge!

I can only assume that he was an occult otaku. I know this other woman who is like that as well.

Tell me when this sentence is true: there are eleven letters in the English alphabet.

I'll raise you. I actually know a witch. She isn't the most pleasant person to be around.

Hmm... I think I heard of this one while watching a game show. [Give him a minute] A normal person would say that there are twenty-six, but it's actually eleven! Just take out "English" part and you have "the alphabet" to count out!

Seriously? She can't be into telling people creepy stories like the person I know, right?

Pretty easy one, isn't it? I'll see if I can find something much harder.

She told me she was best friends with Lucifer-- er, not the one here-- and keeps trying to make me fall in love with her. I'd take creepy stories over love potions any day.

I'll accept any and all challenges.

--Hahaha! Did I mention that I'm dating this Lucifer? It'd be weird if it were the actual demon, I'd have to sell my soul or something. Love potions? That's just too bizzare!

... talk about awkward introductions. "Hi, mom and dad, this is my girlfriend, Lucifer! No no, it's not the same one you're thinking of, I swear."

Pretty sure Akako-san meant the actual demon, based on every other part of her personality.

I know, right? But if my dad makes any flirty moves on her, I'm going to punch him in the face.

Now that's scary. Takano-san is more obsessed with our local village god.

She's your girlfriend; I'd do the same thing if anyone tried to pick up mine. [WHAT GIRLFRIEND, KAITO]

Which god is that?

Wait a second! You have a girlfriend!?

Um... It's known as Oyashiro-sama. I'm sure you haven't heard of it. There's a lot of history behind the god and the village.

-- eh? I didn't say that! I meant... y'know. Hypothetically.

... you're right, I haven't heard of it. How does the legend go?
