So, about two and a half hours into our trip, the truck started to make a funny noise.
Then, a really awful noise.
Upon inspection, after pulling into a BP station, the entire passenger side wheel was angled inward toward the wheel-well. It was two inches from flying off of the truck if we would have stayed on the highway any longer. Fortunately, the BP station also had a garage. They took a look at it and figured out what they needed and got the parts. What had happened, is that one of the wheel barrings snapped off. By driving on it for a ways we also managed to severely damage part of the axel. We were told that it would be around two and a half hours or so to fix and then we could be on our way. So we then found a movie theater within walking distance, sort of, and saw Blades of Glory. Hilarious. What was not hilarious though is that, once we got back, we found out that the bolts had also been stripped out of the calliper and those would not be able to be picked up until morning. Oh shit! That's exactly how I wanted to spend the beginning of our 21 hour drive. Spending the night in a cheap motel in who-the-fuck-knows-where, Indiana. Anyways, the next morning we were on our way.
We arrived here at my Grandma's place at around 8 o'clock this morning.
We then laid out on the beach for a couple hours and I paid waaaayyyy too much for a can of Miller Lite at the bar by the pool. It'll be the liquor store for me from here on out.
That's pretty much it for now. I'm basically a little sweaty, a little sandy, and a lot tired at this point. I'm definately looking forward to the rest of our vacation.
Also looking forward to:
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
colon
Movie Film For Theaters
tonight on Adult Swim.
I'll update more a little later on in the week.
