"Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way"
"They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay..."
Those lyrics kind of give you the sense that people don't like love, or that people get so jealous that they want to tear love apart.
Both of those songs have always bothered me, and now I know why. It gives this false idea of love. Like love puts you above other people (come down now) or makes you better (none of them has ever felt this way). It's kinda silly, and pretty mean... to put love on a pedestal like that. Don't bite me for putting a verse in here but one time my friend made me a pillow on valentines day and it said "1 Corinthians 13 4-8"
Here is that verse:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
I just think thats important to remember.
