Room 220 | Sunday Evening

Aug 02, 2009 18:43

After nearly three days of sleeping, when he finally woke up, the first thing Griff noticed was the serious amount of pain in his back and neck and...okay maybe all over covered it better. His limbs woke quickly once he started moving to get up off the floor, noting the damp spot where his face had been ( Read more... )

Yeah, like you didn't think she'd show up?

"That's where you've been?"

She'd been wondering, but now he was awake! He was awake and okay!

...oh, and Karev. How lucky. Whoo.

Griff made his way to the door. "Yeah, seems we passed out in here. Were you looking for me?"

"Well, yes, you won the raffle we were having down at town hall."

She let that sit for a moment before--

"Yes, Griff! I've been worried about you!"

"He's fine," Alex called from behind him, sucking on a cigarette like his life depended on it yet sounding far more relaxed than usual. "Probably gonna be sore like a mother fucker though."

She tilted in the doorway to give even Alex a smile.

"You look like you came through it all right as well. I'm glad. Anything you, uh, two need?"

Being asleep for so long probably meant they needed food and water. She could do water.

"We were just talking about getting some food," Griff informed her, stretching his arms over his head again. "I could pop down for something to eat here or you could join us, if you'd like."

"Pasta," Alex said firmly. "We're eating pasta. Lots of pasta. But yeah, you wanna come, I think we can make room at a table."

Being back, being alive and not having actually killed his roommate made him feel a little bit friendlier.

That actually made her smile a little.

"Sure. Sure, I can do pasta."

She wouldn't taste it, but she'd eat it. She was that relieved to see them okay.

He was honestly amazed that just waking up from their ordeal could put Karev in a mood to tolerate actual other people. Griff smiled himself, "So how was this weekend for people not lying on the floor of this room?"

"Never ever pass out on the floor of your room," Alex said, rolling his eyes and enjoying his cigarette some more. "It's not fucking comfortable."

"I passed out on asphalt once," she offered with a mock-cheerful smile. She wasn't lying, but she wasn't trying to be mean.

"Not much fun either. Anyway, let me get you guys some water so you're not dehydrated, then pasta?"

"Thanks, Fiona," he said, reaching out to rub the side of her arm in appreciation. "I don't believe being passed out anywhere's likely fun. Unless it's by choice somehow."

"Especially when you're spending way too damn long--" He stopped and shivered briefly. He was supposed to be actively forgetting that. Thinking of better things. "Thanks, yeah."

She nodded, slipping away for a few moments before returning with a glass in either hand. The first she handed to Griff, of course, and the second she held out for Alex.

It fit his understanding for girls to want to ensure he was eating and drinking properly and he smiled as he took the water and drank from the glass. "I hadn't realized just how thirsty I was before."

Alex didn't drink his immediately after taking the glass but he did give her a nod of thanks when she brought it to him.

He just continued pacing the room, still trying to get feeling back in his legs after so long passed out on his floor.

"I think I managed some coffee," he said idly. "And a sip of someone's alcohol while we were there."
