There was this one girl, right. This one time. And you picked her up in an overly bright bar with over priced cocktails. Coach was chatting up her friend, and Winston was still playing basketball overseas.

She was drinking something whipped. Vodka, maybe, With orange juice or something that Nick said was a waste of perfectly good alcohol. You remember that she offered you a sip. She held the glass, tilted it towards your mouth and you swallowed a little too much for it to be comfortable, but whatever, you're man enough to admit that you don't swallow well.

But, hey, that's okay.

You also remember that the drink tasted like ice cream and for the rest of the night, whenever you went down on her, you used just the tip of your tongue. Lapping her up like a double scoop on a waffle cone.

Her name was Natalie or Tiffinee or Grace, and she loved the tightness of your abs. During one round you fucked her in push-ups, but she didn't really get off and your ego is invested enough to make her orgasm a priority. You're good at what you do, you're proud of that.

"Core strength," you told her and rotated your hips in ever tightening circles without moving your upper body. You've never spoken about the belly dancing lessons you got from a chick you banged up in Santa Barbara one summer.

Natalie (or Tiffinee or Grace) left bruises on your shoulders and your inner thighs. The sex was great, and it was the first time you really got into that one over the hip back to front move. She came like a house on fire and isn't that about the dumbest thing you've ever said. Nick laughs himself silly when you tell him about it.

"That phrase is really not sexy," Nick laughs.

"I know!" And how is it possible that you have been reduced to contemplating the sexiness of phrases. "What the fuck," you groan.

You don't even remember how the phrase made it into your vocabulary.

"Good Morning, sunshine! Sunshines! Except that's really awkward to say when there's more than one person."

And, oh, how could you EVER forget. "Right."

Nick smiles and you nod. No wonder you say things like house on fire. Of course you do, but who cares. Really.

Your grimace is almost a smile, not that Jess will notice anyway. Maybe she will think it's some lame toothy grin, and then she'll spend the rest of the day trying to cheer you up and make you smile properly.

You just had awesome, amazing, mind-blowing, multiple orgasm sex with some chick whose name you can't remember but who felt up your abs and didn't mind when you did that one thing with your tongue.

I haven't ever actually seen New Girl, but I couldn't help reading this fic, and I'm so glad that I did! I mean, I know nothing about the character, but if he's the kind of guy on whom that sort of prompt can be given then your characterization is absolutely wonderful! I mean, I always like the ego-centric, self-absorbed types with a whole host of insecurities just below the surface, so your fic has single-handedly made me like this character whose face I haven't so much as seen. And it's a brilliant fic in its own right; loved the writing style; I love how self-aware the fic is, even though it's dealing with a character who is not!

Thank you!!!!! :) I've never written New Girl fic and I've only seen a hand full of episodes, but I LOVE Schmidt and I'm so glad that this worked! Schmidt is pretty awesome and pretty ridiculous. Thanks, so much for the feedback.

I've heard A LOT about it recently (mostly people seem surprised by the fact that they like it because they'd expected it to be typical and basic or something) and it sounds good! But I think you brought out both the awesomeness and the ridiculousness, which honestly I think is really hard to do, because most people tend to make characters...hotter than they are? if that makes sense, haha. But I mean, like, it's hard to get the dorkiness and the ridiculousness right and you did, very epically so :D
