I can rekindle my love for him on this. Rebekah I'm still very meh about because she reminds me of every shallow, useless girl I went to high school with who were catty towards other girls and didn't care about anything but material things. Though, if she and Klaus start making out, I could start to REALLY like her. ;)
Oooh, I know, right? CAN YOU NOT SEE HER BEING ALL “Uh, stop trying to make fetch happen, FETCH WILL NEVER HAPPEN.” But she seriously has that general level of brattiness, definitely. I suppose I might have disliked it if she was a high-school girl, cuz then she’d just be Every Mean Girl Ever (except in actual Mean Girls, because NOTHING tops actual Mean Girls), but I think I like her a lot because I always like the bratty younger sisters (and um, if they have hot, put-upon, older brothers constantly fixing things for them and a lot of semi-inappropriate touching and references, so much the better. YES, FIRST CLASS TICKET TO THE NINTH CIRCLE OF HELL, PLEASE). And I don’t know if TVD is actively going there, but their relationship is definitely out of the ordinary. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HOW SHE IS WITH ELIJAH THOUGH, idk, I think he’d be the best older brother ever :D

OH, I KNOW. I don’t even care how awful the scene is if everyone looks good and sometimes I don’t like scenes where everyone ACTS well and they don’t look good (re: Damon’s middle parting, ugh). I AM THAT SHALLOW DDD:
I think it was that she was just a girl in this episode, hanging out with her friends and doing her best to help, no magic involved. she was there for Matt in a really delightful, NORMAL way.
THIS. PART. BASICALLY. But seriously, you put it here in such a lovely way because this is exactly what it was. She just felt so normal. And Kat is criminally underused, considering she can pull off a lot of epic scenes.
I honestly want the humans to stay humans, which is so hard in a show like this (because seriously, how is the love triangle ever going to be realized if Elena doesn’t turn?) and things like feeling inadequate and useless because you’re not as special as all your friends seem to be, I can sympathize with that. Like, it’s genuinely real that Matt would feel this way because he hasn’t seen the other side of NOT being ‘normal’ and esp all that Caroline had to face after turning. But I so badly want Elena to stay human :S [Salvatore Brothership can bond over her death someday, YOUR FIC SHOULD BE CANON <33333]
