It is so damn hard to find fic in this fandom that gets every character's voice even close to right, especially regarding Dan/Blair and Nate/Serena. Either Blair is too harsh and pushes Nate away or Serena is too much of a bimbo and doesn't deserve anyone's love, etc. This fic has perfect characterization of every single character in an AU/Future setting and it makes you fall in love with them all... which makes the angst all the more bittersweet.

Why this must be read: This fic is single handedly responsible for my perception of Marcus Flint as more than just a lunkhead. Talk about major character development. Also, the banter between him and Katie, it makes me weep with happiness cause it's just that f-king good. And then there's the romance, the tension, and how both of them believe that the other dosen't have the raging hots for them when actually, they do. Also, a healthy amount of angst+tension wherever necessarily which in my opinion is what makes this fic, Something That Should Be Read. Definitely underrated and worth a read. :)The only sad part is that it's not complete. But hey, maybe some day it will be right? :)

YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU FOR READING THESE SHIPS. You are adorable. But honestly, it's like 70% of JKR's universe has been created by fans. The amount of work put into symapthetic characterizations of characters like Parvati or Pansy is just amazing. Not to mention the second generation has a history of its own thanks to fic writers- HP is seriously an ever-growing, dynamic fandom and I'm so glad I've always been a part of it :D

I know right? Its like JKR has one whole fricking universe created and of course, you can't devote time to all the characters. Which in my opinion, makes it a win situation for us. You can then fashion this essential blank slates the way you want, in essence making fanon, canon. Which is the awesomest thing ever. :)
