It starts like this: they’re fighting.

That’s pretty much a given, considering it’s them, but this is old and new all at once.

She’s screaming at him because he paid off the eleventeen hundred and seventy third (yeah, he’s definitely lost count here) guy she’d been dating, that’s old. And he’s looking at her mouth and pretending to himself he’s not, ( Read more... )

See, even with your beautiful writing, I'm still all: SHANNON IS SUCH A BITCH!

Seriously.

I just hate anyone hurting my Ian-bb in any form.

Have you ever seen Young Americans?

Haha, I get that- I did spend half the time she was on screen thinking- "wow, she's a bitch", but I love Boone's reaction to her, and how well Ian portrays it, like the whole helplessness and how much he wants her, it's awesome. I haven't see that! That's another Ian!show, right?

I know, the way his eyes roll back in his head when she gets all in his space? *flails*

When you have time, you should go to YouTube and search for Ian and Young Americans because there are several uploads of that show. It was a spin-off of Dawson's Creek and was only on for 8 episodes in like 1999 or 2000, long time ago. He's so cute and little--it's before he got his ears altered, so he's just adorable.

His main storyline is that he goes to a all-boys prep school in New England somewhere, and a new guy comes to school--but it's not a guy, it's a girl pretending to be a guy as a way to rebel against her absentee mother. They start to fall in love, and it's hysterical because Ian's character Hamilton is FREAKING out because he thinks he's gay. It's adorable, really, not tortured in the sense that he's tortured on LOST or TVD, but he is tortured to his 15 year old mind. Seriously, though, it's so worth watching (I've gone back a few times).

Oh god, that scene was so hot, and Ian's expression at "what?" *flails along with you*. I somehow just really like the bitchy, mean-girl types, I think they're fun to explore, which is why I seriously want to write Shannon-centric fics!

THAT SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. It seriously does, very Shakespearan cross-dressing rip-off and 'she's the man' et al, but young!Ian doubting his sexual orientation has to be fantastic to watch, I'll definitely check it out sometime. Ian also played a gay character in a movie as far as I remember from general stalkerishness, that's pretty awesome (although heartbreaking for me as a girl) as well :D

He's so completely earnest, all pink-cheeked and adorable. Honestly, I sort of feel like a child molester when I watch it (I'm 36), but he was really in his late teens/early twenties so it's just right for you! :D And his chemistry with the girl? TOTALLY AWESOME. You'll love it.

Haha, it's so funny how Ian can generate chemistry with ANYONE, like I find him easily shippable with every character- male or female- think Alaric, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, anybody. What is it about him!

It's the charisma, that's the answer. Some actors just have that ability to spark with whomever they're onscreen with, and it is remarkable. I felt that way about Josh Holloway on LOST, too. I loved Kate/Sawyer, but Sawyer's relationships with Jack, Hurley, Jin, Sayid, and later Juliet and Miles are just so fun to watch.

Interestingly, both of them (Ian and Josh) got their start as print ad models. Which is why they both convey so much with their eyes. Which is a whole other discussion! *g*

Oh my god, I saw a bit of Young Americans and HOW IS IAN SO PRETTY? Honestly, he's all flawless skin and gorgeous eyes and just all round charismatic (which is also why George Clooney remain THE MAN and Hugh Grant has to do nothing more than show his face in a movie for it to be a success).

And that girl looked almost freakishly like a guy, a very pretty, Ian-type guy, but there was no way I could've told it was a girl if I hadn't already known!

I have made the statement that Ian is so pretty on that show that he could have done the cross-dressing thing at an all-girls school. But this way is much more interesting. :D

It's really too bad it was canceled, for me it's in his top five roles thus far; I really love Hamilton. Keep watching, you might wanna fic it too!
