Of course you're brilliant at characterization and voice and dialogue in this fandom as well, of course you are. I think I should hate you for all that talent, but I'm too busy worshipping at the altar of this fic, at the moment.
But LOGAN/VERONICA FIC. LOGAN-IN-THE-NAVY FIC. THE ADJUSTING PERIOD FIC. THE-LET'S-PRETEND-THE-NINE-YEARS-DIDN'T-HAPPEN-BUT-THEY-DID FIC. Just. I feel like this has that exact same element of changing/changed dynamic that the movie did and it's gorgeously done here. Especially because Logan's such an oh moment for Veronica and the people watching, since we're with Veronica on the shock factor and the wait, what, and I was dying for some exploration of that (of course now I'm dead from your exploration so how is this helpful).
But, just the idea, Logan, in the navy. And I love how she's feeling her way around here, because the nine-years-absence is the elephant in the room, but she doesn't want to ask outright what changed, since she was the one not there to see it happen, so Logan being ( ... )

Their conversations, EVERY TIME THEY'RE TOGETHER, and they're mostly talking in quips or quotes and then Veronica waits all alone and I'M NOT HANDLING THIS FIC AT ALL.
"It's what you do. Break up. Make up. Break up. Make up." Mac's keyboard goes click-click-click. She's got a streak of purple in her hair today. She's watching the computer but the corner of her mouth is quirked. "Now at least you can schedule it in."
I actually legit laughed at this idea, because that is actually so true? Only Logan/Veronica tbh.

S1 is one of my absolute favorite things ever, yes (I don't even add the TV qualifier because I have nothing much going on at the moment that vies for space in that regard, heh.) Also, omg, I totally said that thing about filming fanfic to someone yesterday! And I firmly believe that the top 5% of fic is >>>>>> 90% of the published stuff I've read, so definitely a compliment in my book. I am ordering the book as soon as it's out.
LOGAN, THOUGH. Like, when he first comes up in the navy whites, I literally did not comprehend that till a minute later. I guess you REALLY get in V's shoes at that moment in a sort of Logan in the navy loop, because, what. But yes, the whole angst and A-Few-Good-Men quotability of that just had me sold completely (not...that there was any possibility that I would not have been sold regardless of what they'd done.
