Damn right, Chuck Palahniuk

This week could easily be described as hell. 2 exams, a beta-test in computers, and hours upon hours of studying later, it's almost over. One more of those damn exams to go, and you can bet this one will be the worst. The hellish week ends with going home on friday to work 1-9, then 10-6 on saturday. How fun!

The only positive thing about this week was going to the Chuck Palahniuk book reading/signing on monday night. Although it made me miss a class, put me more behind than I wanted to be, and just about made me and everyone else there vomit, it was definitely worth it. Most of his books will be in movie form in the next couple years, starting most likely with Choke. Jessica Beal [whoever that is] has been or will be cast for Invisible Monsters, and the guys that did requiem for a dream are looking into doing one of the movies.

Overall it was definitely an incredible experience. The fact that the first words out of his mouth were "So yeah, in the last town during the reading, someone completely lost control of their bowels." pretty much sums everything up. [Yes Sharon, I stole that from you]. During the reading here 2 people had a lapse of consciousness and the ambulances were called when one kid passed out and hit his head on a bookcase. Chuck said that brings the count up to 62 people. He read out of his new book, Guts, [appropriately titled] which is by far some of the nastiest shit i've ever heard. I won't spoil it for any of you, but I warn ya, don't read it if you have a weak stomach.

After the reading, Chuck answered any questions we had, and passed out fake severed limbs to those who asked questions. I didn't get called on, and am pretty disappointed that I came home limb-less (HAHA! .. oh boy, i need to stop talking). After the reading and Q&A Chuck signed anything we had and I got my copies of Fight Club, Survivor, and Choke signed. I must say, Chuck is the man.
