Summary: Adam hated being home alone when his mom worked late

He hated being alone when he mom was working late. It was entirely too quiet with out her puttering around somewhere in the house. When he was alone he could hear every creak the house made. The sounds of an empty house made let his mind run wild, it let him think of the craziest things. Monsters out in the dark waiting for just the right moment to attack. Creatures under the house, in the walls. It was hard to stop his mind from running wild without her here.

Pacing back and forth, flipping through books, channels and eating just for the sake of passing time. Glancing up at the clock, time never passed quick enough. It was never the same without her here. Then there was always that worry at the back of his mind, what if something happened to her on the way home while he was sleeping. Would he wake up? Would he instinctively know that something was wrong?

They were all each other had to depend on.
