The next question asked was, "Is it true that because LDS practice baptism for the dead, they are not Christians?"

show me somthing to prove me wrong past some scripture from the bible that backs the mormon religion

i have no problem with anyone being mormon but i refuse to accept or believe that mormons are christians because there not and i dont see why mormons see themselfes as another sect of the christiona religion all the different sections of the christian freligion have one thing in commmen then believe and practice the holy bible soly and dont believe in any other gospel now as a mormon beiving in somthing that a christian doesnt belive in how could you think your a christian i see nothing wrong with being a mormon whatever makes you happy and thats fine with me so dont think im trying to mormon bash im just dont agree with that and cant see why anyone would

In the Bible there is only one verse that even mentions the phrase "baptism for the dead" and you will find it in I Corin. 15:29 and this is the scripture that Mormons attempt to profess as Biblical support for this doctrine.

In fact, they will often cite is as proof text as to why they are the only true church, because they practice this rite as no other group does.

But when looking at this verse closely, one can see that Paul is not telling Christians to baptize for the dead because in verse 29 he states, "they" baptize for the dead. Who are "they?"

In verses one through 28 Paul uses the personal pronouns "we" and "us" when talking about Christians, but then in verse 29 he uses the word "they." The only people who practiced baptism for the dead at that time were the pagans and this is who Paul was referring to in verse 29!

So in answer to this question, "Yes, Mormons, you are not Christians because you practice the pagan rite of `baptism for the dead.'"

Whatever I'm not even reading it anymore, because like I said, I don't care anymore. You have your opinion, I have my belief.
