I'm watching so much TV right now I actually had to create a spreadsheet to keep track of it all. Or maybe I didn't have to and just wanted to instead. I don't know which is worse.
MONDAY
How I Met Your Mother: Okay, seriously people, after building up expectations for so long and having so many seasons with this group dynamic, the mother's going to be a huge disappointment, especially if they try to do a couple seasons with her added to the main cast and there's no way they can fix it later because we know once Ted goes to the wedding (which is totally not Barney's/Robin's/Barney and Robin's because it's the lesbian roommate's) and says, "And this is your mother," that's that.
Rules of Engagement: I honestly don't know why the fuck I watch this show.
Two and a Half Men: Ditto, except my mother got me into it and continues to talk to me about it the same way she talks to me about people my younger sister went to high school with even though I didn't care then, don't care now, and repeatedly tell her both of those things.
The Event: I don't even get this show, which I suspect is the point, but Heroes is over and that No Ordinary Family doesn't start until next week and looks cheesy (which won't stop me from watching it) so I needed a little bit of weird in my life - but if that weird turns out to be aliens, I'm going to be pissed.
Castle: I like Castle well enough, and I've got a creepy crush on the redheaded daughter, but it's hard to get into a show when their central premise is sexual tension that doesn't seem to exist.
Hawaii Five-0: I was looking forward to this, and did actually end up liking it and will probably keep watching, but it's got one hell of a body count I am so over cop shows and have no idea why 75% of my TV has to be full of them.
TUESDAY
Glee: I continue to like it and don't hate the new people, but there were just too many plots for the first episode and it kind of feels like nothing important enough for me to care about happened until we got to the preview for next week of Brittany doing Britney.
Raising Hope: This totally lost the fight between my TV and the internet, but it's not necessarily bad and might turn into a really good sitcom somewhere down the line, although the baby shtick will probably wear out before they get to great.
Running Wilde: Unwatchable.
WEDNESDAY
Undercovers: The setup with the catering and the quitting the CIA to be married and the secret reasons why they're back were all kind of lame, but it was entertaining and, more importantly, this show stars the two most attractive people on television and, quite possibly, the planet.
Hellcats: I don't really know what to say, except that it holds my attention during the Criminal Minds hour and I really like cheerleaders pleated skirts hot girls jumping around and getting thrown in the air by equally hot men enthusiastic and acrobatic dance routines done by hardworking, respectable athletes, about whose petty problems I care deeply and wish to learn more.
Terriers: You know, cop shows, like I said, but I'm really liking the it and I think it probably has the best, most believable characters of any of the new fall shows.
I'm still not watching Criminal Minds. Eventually, I'll be able to watch the DVDs I already own, but as far as I'm concerned, the show ended after season 5.
THURSDAY
My Generation: I spent an hour staring at my TV and have no fucking idea what the hell I just watched, but I'm going to do it again next week because I feel like there's got to be a point to it somewhere that I'm missing.
The Big Bang Theory: I don't have any complaints but I don't have anything to gush about either, just like I do and don't like Sheldon's new girlfriend but I'm more forgiving of the show than I probably should be, considering last season, so I consider the new season an overall success so far.
Nikita: This is probably the only new fall show that I'm willing to actively fangirl, because Maggie Q is super hot and super badass and even though I know she'll keep beating Division at their own game and there's, like, zero suspense, I still want to keep watching.
Beast Legends: Basically enjoyable, although tedious in parts, but I always seem to miss the last five minutes when the show the monster they created ravaging the modern world and since that's the entire point of the show, I'm usually disappointed.
There's nothing worth watching on Fridays except Rachel Maddow, but she's on every night and has been all summer. And anyway, I need a night off. That's way too much TV.
ALSO! I'm doing the
girlsavesboyficathon, and have run into a problem: Winnifred Burkle is a physics genius. I am not. I want her to use physics to save the day, but I have no idea how to do that. Any smart people - or anyone who even just took a physics class - out there with any ideas?
