Oh man, last night John and I were making a DVD of our "greatest hits" from high school (and a couple from my college era). So funny. We watched 3 New Years Eves - the one with the Scary Movie spoof we made, the other one with the killer sheep movie we made and the third one where Jared put a hole in my floor. We also watched John's 16th birthday party, Drama Party 2001, Route 6 Road Trip and both Fat Lingo 101 videos. I miss Fat Lingo. We were such idiots back in the day, but we had so much fun....
My Thanksgiving was fabulous...nothing like last year when we had to rent a hall because we had over 50 people and my African cousins were here. For the third year in a row, it rained. Me and Tim still went to the Wareham/Bourne game because it's tradition and I would feel wrong not going. The Wareham Band...words cannot describe....how much the program has gone down the shitter. All of a sudden the band was attempting to play something and I looked over to Tim and said, "Umm....this is supposed to be half-time." I know that we were the creators of the JFL award (Just Fucking Leave) but c'mon. As for dinner, it was a typical Gabrey/Smith/Fortin shin-dig complete with lots of dirty talk, yelling and grazing. The whole town of Wareham lost power for about a half hour. That was fun. We played Jenga and Scrabble. My home-made sangria was a huge success. It tasted wonderful and even reminded me of the sangria from that mexican restaurant in Key West. Good stuff. I eventually ran out of it and had to start mixing up other drinks. I really miss bartending. Thanksgiving ended with some Dance Dance Revolution over Jared's house. I hadn't played in years and it brought back tons of memories. Plus, I was surprised that I still could do songs on maniac mode. I guess it's like riding a bike. Good times.
As for the rest of the week....I worked a few days. Last Saturday was insane. There was a parade in Plymouth and of course there was only me and one other server scheduled. All of a sudden the restaurant was full and there was a line out the door. Talk about "in the weeds". The whole Italian family that owns the restaurant was definitely on speed-dial though because out of nowhere everyone showed up and a couple other servers were called in. Basically that was a 12 hour day where I didn't even have time to eat or go to the bathroom. Yes. I'm slowly beginning to get used to that place, but trust me, I don't see myself working there forever.
I also managed to see a couple movies. Took myself to see Fast Food Nation on Monday. It was pretty graphic towards the end showing cows in the meatpacking plant. Really gross, and kinda sad. Great movie though. I highly recommend it. Of course I came home and my mother was making hamburg gravy for dinner. I haven't eaten any meat since Monday....John and I went to see Babel on Tuesday. It was really long, but really, really, really good. I smell Oscars. There are tons of movies out right now that I am dying to see. But seeing as I'm only working 2 days this week, I'll probably be able to see a bunch of them.
Tonight I am going to ZOX-FEST at Lupos in Providence. This will be the 8th or 9th time that I have seen Zox live and I'm sure this show is going to absolutely rock. Hoping to go see My Chemical Romance and Say Anything on Wednesday night, if tickets are still available.
Alright, I have Netflix movies to watch. Peace.
