And most importantly, HOW:
[Latest update: Arabic translation added! Japanese, Thai, Spanish, Chinese also available.]
The easiest and more direct way for us to send Jin our love this July 4th is, no doubt, via Twitter. Although he hasn't tweeted for a long time, we do know that he still reads our tweets (as Zen has reiterated time and time again)!
Tweeting Jin “Happy Birthday!” etc. is sweet and all, but we will be doing something different this year. With a more personal twist. Instead of tweeting Jin messages, we tweet him our handwritten ones. That's right, we're going to tweet him celebratory messages in the form of photos he can actually collect and save, each with his fans’ own unique touch and handwriting.
So this is what we're gonna do:
- Write your birthday message to Jin.
- Take a clear photo of it, upload to an image hosting site.
- When the clock strikes midnight on July 4th (Japan Standard Time), @Jin_Akanishi the link to your photo and add a #HappyJinday3012 hashtag in your tweet. Jinday lasts all day!
NOTE: The project isn’t just restricted to images of handwritten birthday notes. If fans want to get a cake and decorate it with a message, or if they made a graphic and wrote (as in, added text) a message on it, they can tweet him those as well. Basically, everything will be sent to him in image form.
Including #HappyJinday3012 in all your tweets for the day is encouraged, but not mandatory. Trending isn't really our main focus; we're more about getting down and personal this year. :)

→ GUIDELINES
- Keep your message short and sweet. There's no minimum word count (if you're not good with words, a simple Happy Birthday would do! It's the thought that counts.), but please keep to a few sentences at most. The longer you write, the more you have to cram into the photo. We don't want Jin to go blind trying to read teeny squiggles.
- Write in Japanese and/or English. Spanish is okay as well, though Japanese and English should be priority. These are the languages we know Jin understands. No point confusing him with a message he can't comprehend.
- Maximum 700px x 700px image size. We don't want to blow up Jin's screen with humongous photos either.
- Make sure image is well-lit and clear. For your words to be visible, avoid blurry/grainy photos. Edit your photo to adjust the brightness, prettify it if required. (If you do not have the means nor software to do so, I'm sure your fellow Jin fans would be glad to help! :D)
- Link directly to your image. The link you tweet Jin should end in an image file format (.gif, .jpg, .png etc.). Please do not link websites.
- Jin-only. As this is a Jin birthday project, the focus is on him and him alone. Stuff like "Hope you have a great time celebrating with loved ones!" is fine. :) But with the exception of known family relations, please do not reference other people.
- Most importantly: Be creative, be respectful, HAVE FUN! ♥ Use colors! Draw fanart! Decorate! Make graphics! Bake a cake! There are no limits. Unless you're planning on sending Jin nude photos of yourself... let's not ^^".
