IT MUST BE SAID
I am a Jew. I am a proud Jew. I live in a great land, the United States of America. I must say something. I must shout this out.
I am tired of being yelled at for being a Jew. Shouts of "Hitler!" or "Nazi!" or the sound of heels clicking together and arms thrust upward toward me as if the Third Reich still existed.
I live with this. I get it often. In America.
What gets me is that the people around me do nothing. They say nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I am really scared. I have been told this year that I deserve to be burned in an oven and some offered to ignite the fire. I have been told that I should have died in the Holocaust.
I wear my kippah with great humility and pride. My wonderful family, Kol Yisrael, is my joy and delight. I will serve Hashem and live my life as a Jew. Even in America.
