GRRR. That pretty much sums up my take on Live 8. I was very excited for Live 8, it is a pretty big musical event as far as my lifespan goes. To say the coverage was botched would be a horrible understatement. They (the ominous they who choose what to show and when to show it) cut into and away form bands in the middle of their numbers and played much more of MTV and VH1 VJs yammering than music acts. At least they sowed nearly four full songs by Pink Floyd (the only act I really cared about seeing) and by scanning two different Tivoed showings of the concert found a full two songs by the Who. However MTV completely glazed over Paul McCartney and he was the bloody closing act, MTV didn't even show the finale... I had to catch that on the ABC recap. Disappointing coverage to say the least. Now I know the the whole concert was to convince the G8 leaders to forgive Africa's debt and not so much about the music as the message, but let's just say I am glad the leaders aren't basing their decisions on the MTV coverage of the event.
Sry to babble.
I recommend everyone sit back put on Dark Side of the Moon music and think of days when Pink Floyd members still had facial hair.
