and scene...
One month since I've updated, due to various events not really in my control. A shocking number of them were bad (or at least unpleasant) so I shall rant:
1) First finals
2) and grading.
3) Then the dentist told me I might need braces. Bad for two reasons: A) everybody thinks I'm 6-7 years younger than I really am, and braces will just land me squarely back in middle school, and B) I'm pretty sure I only have a few more months on my dental insurance plan, so orthodontist bills are a big no-no.
4) Next, the rear window of my dad's car got smashed in while I was borrowing it to visit a friend. They didn't break big enough holes to take anything, so someone was just smashing to be mean. Lame. Also, I was only in my friend's apartment for two hours! Lame, lame.
5) Qualifiers, and studying for them. I spend the first week working problems by myself, and effectively forgot how to speak english. My friends asked me if I wanted to go to dinner Friday night and it took me awhile to figure out what they were saying.
6) My throat hurts. This had the semi-positive side effect that I was quite toasty even with the thermostat down to 60, and I did add a new fever dream to my repertoire. The one I usually have involves people stacking cardboard boxes on top of me and jumping on them. This one had me trying to solve one of those pin solitaire games, where you have to remove all the pins from the board by jumping them. It was impossible, but whoever is in charge of these things kept forcing me to play.
7) C got rear-ended by another friend, and his car won't go now.
