There might be a certain word in the language you speak
that gets on your nerves,
stabs you where it hurts most
and goes on to rub salt onto the wound.
Some others cannot stand a sentence
or rather a statement.
I think mine is "Don't say that. Say you don't mean it."
It doesn't bother me as much as it used to.
Mostly because I have learnt to ignore it,
since there was only one person who would say that to me for the wrong reasons
(she encourages free speech but never quite accepted what I said)
and she has since been fading out of my life.
My 'word' still bothers though.
It annoys the over-eager side of my brain.
and it pops up often in my day-to-day life.
Plus, it really hurts to hear it.
(It's true, I cry a little on the inside when I hear it)
You would think after hearing it this many times,
my brain would at least be immuned to it now.
Nope. Doesn't work that way.
I still cry on the inside when I hear it.
