Long time....No Update?!
Well.....I decided to sort of update a bit. Since it's been waaaay too long to really deem it worth writing up reports of the past three cons I've been to....not to mention there have been enough already I will make short comments.
A-kon: Very Hot. Enough said. No j/k. Got really sick on fri. Still went to the concerts and had a good time. Screamed my head off for Duel Jewel & Camino. Duel Jewel has vastly improved their music and stage performance. I had only heard samples of Camino prior to A-kon....and was absolutely blown away. These guys don't need fancy name brand clothes nor make-up. Their music speaks for itself. Not to mention there very laid-back and good natured. I think anyone who hasn't heard of them or bought their cd needs to do so NOW! Aside from the kick-ass concert.....only wore two of the three planned costumes cus I was sick and it was TOO HOT! Not to mention....I'm starting to bore with cosplaying. Manhatten Club performance on sat. was nice because it was a small club and a bit more personal. Good drinks and food as well!
Fanime: This was a lot of fun in that I got to work the Jpophouse table and be on the other side of the con. Also worked with Blood the new upcoming indies band from Osaka, Japan. Those guys are a lot of fun. They really enjoy what they are doing and are getting better and better everytime they release something. They might not be for everybody, but I still think people should give them a try. They are much better now that Takeshi is the singer and dai has been released. There is more of a bond and unity among the guys. Concert went well....surprisingly enough. They kept getting bumped around from their playing time. So we worried they wouldn't have a good turn-out for their first time here. Luckily, evreything turned out okay. Really good reception and more than 20 people, cari!!!! Whoo-hoo! No cosplay this con....ALL WORK! Some drama.....at the con....but...you deal with it and move on.
Expo: Unexpected last-min trip. It was decided that Blood would be coming out again to play....so here I go again out to cali. to assist Blood. Poor guys were run ragged, but still put on a kick-ass show! Stage was split....WTF?! So they ended up playing on the hard wood floor in front and had a stair thing set up in the middle that takeshi sang from for the most part. Sound system was a little better than fanimes. Very good turn-out and lots of new and old fans turned up! They were even chanting "Blood" before the guys came out. I'm so happy to see that soo many people got into their music and were doing the para-para. It was so exciting. The boys still have a ways to go, but everytime I see them they are improving. Plus I like the variety in their style and songs. No cosplay for me for this con. All work! Went to the J-rock events on fri. since a couple people I knew would be there and Blood had already gone back home....so nothing to do there. It was great seeing Onyxmoon, Morgen and Johnny again! Plus getting to meet new people! I guess that's about it. *L*
Went to the shore yesterday with some girlfriends.....so I'm burnt and tired and can't really think beyond this. *L* It was a lot of fun though. Haven't really done the girls day or night out in a long time. Must do that more! Alright, that's enough from me for today. Take care everyone!
