Washed Away

Oh yeah, updating. So, what's been happening? Not much! Not much at all, really. Still bumming around at home, still spending much too much of my time on Steam. It's all very exciting, really \:3/

But that's not to say there's nothing new. For a start, this is new:

Yeah, I know. And I don't care. :3 Although I should probably cut down on the amount of time I spend drawing boring, pointless shit. Maybe that can be next year's New Year's resolution.

Oh yeah, I just got through having to endure 2 weeks of internet from the 90s. Ah, dial-up speeds; the internet is so not friendly to you any more. :'3 Went past my download cap for the month getting me some games that some cool, cool guys bought for me on Steam over Christmas. :3 Y'know, I'm still a little bit surprised that places like the States don't have download limits in their internet plans. I guess I kind of assumed that since they do it here, it must be like that everywhere. Lol cultural ignorance. \:D/
So anyway, usually in the past when I've exceeded my download limit, it'd be a couple of days before my limit would be reset, not a couple of weeks. The last time I had to endure something similar was when I'd just moved into my new place and didn't have a connection set up with an ISP yet. But at least then I could abuse the office internet. So, finally getting full speed back, I have to say, is a lot like having an enema I'd imagine. And yeah, I should get out more. -_-

Been playing a bit of Torchlight lately too. I'd always thought it was one of those games I'd play in small spurts here and there but it's really taken me in. In a way, I really think playing that game is a lot like playing a slot machine. You know that it's not going to be particularly in depth in the way something like Dragon Age might be, but there's still enough flashing lights and pretty colours to keep you going, and it's easy to be seduced by the shiny bling. And the whole Warcraft III look of everything is pretty easy on the eyes too. :3

Anyway, need to get into some of these other games sitting in my to-play list but I reckon I'm going to need to take it easy because I don't fancy having to obey a speed limit again any time soon. :'3

Oh, also on the topic of games, a former colleague of mine sent me this link of basically 70 minutes of my former producer talking about all the things that went wrong on one of the projects that I worked on for over 2 years.
In a way it's sort of vindicating and sad at the same to be able to look at something like that and think "Ha, I knew it - you guys fucked up." I do hope that from an experience like that, some lessons were at least learned by upper management types. But y'know, I'll believe it when I see it.
