Not Sesame Street !
Yet another sign of the apocalypse... when children's shows are no longer suitable for children, it's time to pack it in. After reading this, it's no wonder my generation is so screwed up!
"The earliest episodes of 'Sesame Street' are available on digital video! Just don’t bring the children. According to an earnest warning on Volumes 1 and 2, “Sesame Street: Old School” is adults-only: 'These early ‘Sesame Street’ episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today’s preschool child.'"
Some of the more objectionable material includes:
- Cookie Monster regularly overeating
- Two men (Burt & Ernie) living together
- A young girl befriends a complete stranger who takes her home for milk & cookies
- The manically depressed Oscar the Grouch
- Big Bird's regular hallucinations of Snuffleupagus (it must be drugs!)
- The portrayal of an inner city slum as a place of wonder and fun (that's right kiddies, Sesame Street was a ghetto!)
