[AU] Durarara!! Part 1 DVD
It arrived this morning!! There wasn't any bonus item but there was an ad for a chance to win a poster signed by director Takahiro Omori, which would be nice and all if the url worked >_>, Not yet time I guess... My usual pics and fanboying coming next!
Slipcase front/back. If you notice a light red hue reflection in the photo, that would be my shirt orz. Nice use of the key visual for the slipcase, though I'd have preferred if they went with the Japanese dvd covers all the way.
DVD case front/back. Really like that they used volume 7's cover. It could do without the black gradients though.
Reverse side of the dvd cover. Again, nice.
Disc 1 and disc 2.
Dvd menus were such a surprise for me (In a good way). Nice choice of artwork, three of them to boot! Disc 2 also has the same menus.
Well that's the end of the pics. As for the video quality, I noticed this in a few other Siren releases, but the video felt somewhat oversharpened, or does it look different when played on a TV instead of laptop+external monitor? I'm willing to overlook that though. Overall the release is good and as a DRRR!! maniac, I'm satisfied. I hope Siren keeps the quality for the next 2 parts (perhaps with less video sharpening? =x). There's still some limited edition posters that are supposed to be available throughout Australia so I'll be keeping an eye out for them. I also want AniplexUSA's edition of the dvd *A*. The whole package is so sexyyyy. I mean, just look at it, damn.
For those interested in getting the dvds, be sure to head to DurararaUSA for those in Region 1 and Siren Visual for Region 4. Better yet if you're willing to, why not the original Japanese dvds?
