What the FUCK?!!
Please excuse the harsh language, but that was my initial reaction to the subject I'm about to breach. While at work today, a girl came in to be tutored on how to write her paper. Her assignment was to read two essays expressing opposing views on a subject, pick a side, then compare and contrast. Her subject matter? Two different views on rape, whether it was the man's fault or the WOMAN'S FAULT.....Allow me to say that again...One of the essays actually expressed an opinion that RAPE IS THE FAULT OF THE WOMAN...
Does anyone see the absurdity of this? Have you ever heard ANY woman actually saying how they want to be raped? That they express the desire of being forced to have sex with a man they don't even know?! The very nature of rape is that it is an UNSOLICITED ACT OF SEXUAL INTERCOURSE!!! Any person who sides with this argument I seriously believe deserves to be raped themselves. To say that a woman puts herself into a bad situation that might lead to rape, yes that happens, and women should make sure to keep themselves out of those situations, but everyone makes mistakes and bad things happen because of it. But to say it's the woman's fault....how dare you. HOW DARE YOU. This is exactly why rapists and sexual predators go free. No woman would ever ask to be raped. I don't care how sexually deviant t she thinks herself to be. Because by saying "I WANT to be raped" is therein disqualifying the act as rape. This is not funny. This is not right. To be taken advantage of or abused in such a way is the most awful feeling in the world. The woman already blames herself, believing there's something she could've done to stop it, to prevent it, or that maybe she did something to ask for it. THIS IS NOT TRUE. A man who takes pleasure in forcing himself on women is not a man at all. He is the lowest and vilest of scum, not worthy of even being named. And anyone who believes that a woman is at fault in any rape case is a bastard that deserves the fires of hell for all eternity.
