Week one: check

Jan 25, 2009 16:23

This past week was my first almost full week in the Tenafly school system, notably the high school.

It went really well, which is the best that anyone can really ask for. The first week is always the most important, in regards to getting yourself situated, meeting all of the appropriate people, and getting the subject matter under control.

I am happy to say that in a span of three days, I was able to go through all of the material for the next unit, outline out my lessons and activities through March, and fully lesson plan the next two weeks.

You might be wondering, how the hell did you have time to do all of that?

Well, it is amazing to note that every day, from the end of period 4 (10:16) to the beginning of period 8 (1:28), my host teacher has nothing. No lunch duties, no hall duties, nothing but personal work. Even though I only have one class now, and will have three in about a month or so, that is still a ridiculous amount of time, every single day to get things done.

Again, what does this mean?
It means for one that I will never have to skip out on trips to Montclair due to backed up work.
The only thing stopping me is weather, and maybe like a family thing or something.

That coupled with getting onto campus on Mondays because of my class has single handedly secured my at one time doubts and concerns about seeing people.

This makes me so happy, and as some of you know, I have no real contacts here at home, so going to Montclair and seeing people is the extent of my social life.

Not to take that out of context, as I love every single one of my Montclair friends, and because the majority of you still have a full year before you all go full term and graduate, I am sitting pretty in my social scene.

Today I went out driving with my dad, but instead of having to do the stupid Tenafly route, seeing as how i did it myself for the last three days of the previous week, we went right onto the highway, and spent some time on 80.

The best part is I made no mistakes, and it went great.
Next weekend, either Friday or Saturday I have to see, I will get to drive us up, and he will drive my car back home.

Even though this will only be the first time I'm driving the route, I have watched and followed the route for the last four and a half years. I know how to do it.

Not to mention it isn't that difficult either. The hardest thing is the circle turn on Valley Road.

Everything is falling into place, and before anyone knows it, I too will once again be a regular Gamer, which is something I look forward to with each passing Tuesday.
