I've listened to a fair amount of discussion about the federal indictment against Michael Vick today (3 hr drive to Charlotte). It seems that the government has a good number of witnesses to show the financial and physical support by Vick for the dogfighting that occurred on his Virginia property. Apparently, many dogs were killed, some from actual fighting and some from other means. The most humane way the dogs were killed was a bullet to the head. Other methods mentioned in the indictment include hanging, drowning, and electrocution. Listening to some of the things that went on and some of the torture dogs were frequently exposed to was pretty sickening. Then there's the actual dog fighting aspect to it.
Not counting the potential for jail time, Michael is sure to loose quite a bit of endorsement money. The league will pretty much sit by and see how things pan out with the trial. It is his first offense according to the new conduct policy. However, at the next small legal trouble, the NFL is sure to be heard from. Who ever thought Marcus would be seen as the good Vick brother.
