Dinner / Deck

The young boy stood, leaning over the counter that was littered with cut vegetables. Rice and meat were frying over the stove, attended to by a tall, thin blonde, stirring the food swiftly so that the smell wafted through the kitchen and melted the pirate captain's senses. Impatience filled his body as he tapped his fingers quickly against the hard surface of the counter, his big blue eyes searching the stove for a sign of completion. Finding none, he cleared his throat, grabbing the chef's attention.
“Hey, is it almost done?” He asked hastily, a grin over his face, showing his full, toothy smile. Food had always been Rufi's favourite thing.
The cook raised an eyebrow, looking at the boy with a condescending eye. He looked back to the stove, rolling the un-lit cigarette in between his fingers.
“Almost. Haven’t I told you to wait out there?” Sanji pointed to the kitchen door that led outside into the night. Beyond that door lie a small hallway with stairs up to the deck, where Nami was studying her maps and Zoro was sleeping peacefully.
“But... I like being in here with you.” Rufi whined, leaning against the counter. Sanji looked up quickly and felt his cheeks warming as he stared at the boy.
“Why do you say that?” He asked quietly, leaning in towards him.
With a big smile, Rufi moved in closer.
“Because I get to smell the food!”
Sanji twitched and sighed, annoyed, pulling away from the boy and pushing him out of the kitchen.
