But it's February???
God, I am so tired after that bus, but not wanting to waste time in Tokyo sitting around,so I went for a walk to Ueno Park because it was close to the hostel I'm staying at.
It had cherry blossoms in bloom....it's Febrauary, so they're about 2 months too early? We didn't quite believe it, Michael then asked a random person if they were cherry blossoms. And they were.
A random old man then comes and tells us in mix of English and Japanese about the cherry blossoms, and that this particular tree is special because it blooms early or something like that, or maybe it was a special variety or something. I was tired and found him it difficult to understand...
at least he didn't start telling us there were bodies underneath or something like that
Apart from cherry blossom trees which were mostly bare apart from that one and a couple of others, there was a zoo which I didn't go to, shrines, homeless bums, a merry go round and a pond with ducks. And because this is Japan, there were also many vending machines.
