The perils of reading foreign language porn at work
Usually on my lunchbreaks at work, I study Japanese from a textbook I've been working through. However, I'd finished the book I'd been using and was still waiting for the next one to arrive, so today I just took along a Japanese novel and read that while at lunch....making sure to hide the cover because yes, it's one of those novels...well, actually, it's the same BL novel I've been trying to read for about 3 months now...my reading in Japanese is veeeeery slow, but I still enjoy it.
So I'm quietly reading, and then one of my coworkers comes up behind me and says "Are you actually reading that?"
"Yeah" I reply, somewhat cautiously.
"Thats amazing! You look so cool doing that"
Me on the inside..."you wouldn't be saying that if you knew what I was actually reading"
Roughly translated(I generally understand the gist of what I'm reading, but not the specifics), the exact sentence I was reading when she interrupted me was:
"Without even one caress, Fushimi violently dominated Fuyuki"
Mmmm choice passage.
At least she didn't see the cover of the book...or the illustation that was on the next page...
On a slightly different and less perverted note, I must say, I find it really hard to read in a different language if I'm hearing people speaking English around me.
