Very few interesting things happen to me. Or even around me. I don't really mind. I like it when things are calm and even all the time. Though there was some excitement at work the other day.
We had just taken our morning break, (this is not to imply that there is an AFTERNOON break) and I was running the large block saw. suddenly the power to the saw quit. I walked into the building to find out what happened....it appears that someone smelled gas in the existing school (we are building an addition), and evacuated the kids and shut off all the power.
Then I was asking, "Why are we all still here then?" It seems my niece, who attends that school, though the same thing. She asked why the construction workers weren't evacuating. She was told we were, and then when she came outside, she could see that we were all still in the building. She told me she cried because she was scared I was going to get blown up. Isn't she sweet?
Turns out the whole thing was some sort of mistake. Better safe than blown up, I guess.
I ordered some stone carving chisels that came last weekend. I sat down the next day and tried carving a relief of a leaf. (I didn't realize until i typed it how silly that sounds) It didn't turn out half bad for the first time I ever tried to carve anything. I am hoping it will have the same stress-relieving effect that woodworking used to have for me. I will have to post a pic of the leaf on my site soon.
That's about it for interesting things. Maybe it was more than the interesting things. I don't know.
